The cancer of also known liver under the name of primary or metastatic hepatic carcinome is a rather rare form of cancer in the western world (1% of all cancers) but much more common in Africa and of the areas of Asia (10% 50% of all cancers). It is much more widespread at the men and the incidence increases with the age. The cancer of liver is quickly mortal, usually in the 6 months of the gastro-intestinal haemorrhage, the hepatic failure or metastasis.

TYPES OF CANCER OF PHASE

The majority of the primary tumours of liver are known like hepatic tumours (carcinome hepatocellular and primary education lower carcinome of cells). Some primary education cancers of liver come from cholagogue and those are known like cholangiomas. Some rare cancers of liver include the sarcome cells of Kupffer and the hepatoblastomas (which occur almost exclusively in the children and are usually sizeable and setting). The metastatic cancer of liver is 20 times more common than the primary education cancer of liver and after the cirrhosis this is the principal form of related death by liver.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS

The cancer of liver normally does not cause symptoms until it is with a advanced stage.

The clinical effects of advanced cancers of liver include:

1. A mass in the higher good side.

2. Offer, nodular liver on palpation

3. Pain engraves in epigastrium or the higher right-sided

4. Weight loss, anorexia, weakness, fever

5. Occasional Ictre or ascite (fluid in the abdomen)

CAUSE CANCER OF LIVER

The precise cause of the cancer of liver is unknown in the adults but in the children it can be a genetic disease. Adult carcinomes of liver can result from the environmental exposure to carcinogenic such as the mould, the darkening agents (more in service), the androgens and the oestrogens oral, the virus of hepatitis B or by damage with the liver due to the cirrhosis caused by drinking too much prolonged alcohol.

DIAGNOSIS

It is difficult to diagnose cancer of liver in the presence of the cirrhosis, but several tests can help to identify it: The combination of a study of formation image (ultrasound, sweepings of CT, or MRI) and a level of high blood of alpha-fetoprotein will diagnose the indeed cancer of liver, studies of electrolyte can indicate the increased sodium conservation, a biopsy of liver can make a final diagnosis.

TREATMENT

The treatments for the primary education cancer of liver depend on the extent (stage) of the disease, the age, total health, the feelings and the personal preferences. The surgery is the most effective treatment for the primary education cancer of liver, but it is not always due possible to the size or the position of the tumour. The ablation of radio frequency is an option for people with the small ones, unresectable tumours hepatocellular and for some types of metastatic cancers of liver. During this process, the hepatic artery (whose artery cancers of liver derive their provisioning from blood) is blocked, and chemotherapy additive are injected between filling and the liver. Cryoablation can be an option for people with primary education and metastatic cancers of liver inoperable. To remove the whole liver and the replacement of him by a liver of another person is another possible form of treatment for the primary education cancer of liver.

Even when the treatments do not bring much of improvement of the cancer of liver itself, the pain and other signs and symptoms caused by the cancer of liver can be aggressively treated to improve quality of life. Generally the treatments available for children are the same ones as for adults, and the best approach depends on the stage and the type of cancer as well as the child the 'age of S and total health.

FORECAST

The forecast is poor when cancer is advanced, but for the small tumours which are confined with the liver, the ablative therapies are palliative and surgical transplantation of rsection or liver
